The Bristol Rat Race is 2 months away so where you to then moy Lavur? Dust off the lycra and prepare for a Gert Lush adventure down ‘ol Brizzle'... 1.) Update on Bristol Rat Race 2008 2.) Raise funds for Penny Brohn Cancer Care 3.) ACE Race offer for Bristol Racers – an ideal training event on 10th May 2008 near you! Hello Bristol Rat Fans. Well, you’re in for a treat this summer as we count down the clock to mud, sweat and tears on the streets of ‘ol Brizzle. The course for this year is looking tip top. It’s kind of a conundrum having to keep it a secret from you at this stage, yet trying to tell you something about it!! Still, here goes…hot off the press from Pete James, Jim Godden and Chris Gazeley, our dastardly Bristol purveyors of planning…. “Bristol is a hilly place. We all know that. Get used to them. Expect to go up and down them. Lots. And what does go up must come down, naturally…so start scanning the skyline for buildings you might 2.) Raise funds for Penny Brohn Cancer Care Penny Brohn Cancer Care are pleased to announce that we are the official charity for the Bristol Rat Race! If you have not entered yet or even if you have already entered, you can choose to raise funds for us and “convert” your entry if you would like. More details on this below. We have two special offers running for those who want to raise funds for us: 1. Adventure Class: If you’re up for the full challenge, the Adventure Class includes the Saturday night Mean Streets, then attack • Registration fee is £150 per team (£50 per person) OR 2. Mean Streets • Registration fee is £60 per team (£20 per person) • Pledge to raise a minimum of £300 between all 3 team members Why run for Penny Brohn Cancer Care? We rely on people taking part in our supported events and the sponsorship raised makes a considerable and very tangible difference to all those who will pass through our doors. ACE Race offer for Bristol Racers – Ideal training event on 10th May 2008 near you! OK so you’ve entered the race. You’ve read our (cryptic) update and you might even be up for raising some cash for Penny Brohn. The training has started, or maybe it hasn’t, or maybe you’ve not even dragged yourself out of that long winter hibernation yet….well Spring is in the air and we have a great deal for you at the upcoming ACE Race in Sussex next month. The ACE Race 1 day events pack 5 hours of running, biking, team challenges and map-work into a sunny Saturday. All maps are provided and all you need is your bike and your bonce. We give you a special edition ACE Races Buff, you get to race on your own, as a pair or as a team of 3, Rat Race-style. Maybe we’ll see you there! It's an ideal training outing for you and your team in the beautiful Pippingford Estate at the heart of mighty and ancient Ashdown Forest, Sussex. A mere hop, skip and a jump down the M4, why not join us there and brush out some of those cobwebs! 1.) Update on Bristol Rat Race 2008
fancy abseiling. We are talking to a few well known venues and hope to really pack a punch with this year’s rope-work. White knuckles essential. Brown trousers optional! As usual, our Bristol event will be as “green” as it is “grey” and you should expect to see some of the more “traditional” green spaces of Bristol this year as we open up some super-cool single-track, some O-some orienteering and some tip-top trail running. But there will be lots of new venues too. You might be getting up close and personal with some relics of Bristol’s engineering heyday and you might be “going down the shops” too at some point. You WILL get wet and you WILL get high (above the city!). You will love it. We’ll see you in June and look forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike to the best Bristol Rat Race yet!”.jpg){kind=logo}

If you want to get the flavour of the Rat Race you can enter the Mean Streets and enjoy 3 hours of checkpoint and activity hunting on a Saturday night in the heart of Bristol.
