EDINBURGH RATS HAVE RACED!

The dust has just about settled on the Edinburgh Rat Race 2006 where around 500 competitors took on the call of the Rat at the spiritual home of the race. Once again they faced challenges ranging from the epic to the surreal, with some, such as the ropework section in Blackford Quarry, verging on both! Cows, Ninjas, Photo Shoots, Karaoke, Gorillas and Bananas all (somehow) fitted in perfectly with the running, mountain biking, kayaking, climbing and abseiling, along with everything else that went on around the 9+ hours of racing that took place this weekend.
After taking full points in the prologue on Saturday night The North Face couldn’t keep the pace set by Sleepmonsters.com on Sunday as they took victory by 40 minutes from Team Accelerate. After that however things were a lot closer and every minute counted for the 150+ teams that made up the rest of the field.
