Life’s a Beach

The event village will be located on Brighton Seafront, adjacent to the famous Palace Pier. Bring your SPF 15 and oil up ‘cos life’s a Beach at the Brighton Rat Race 2008!

In the village you will get the usual mixture of Rat Race facilities – such as the secure bike compound to store your steed, the Registration tent and the massage tent . We will be setting up camp here on the Friday night and you are welcome to come and register then, if you are in the city centre. There are loads of catering options within walking distance of the village; candy floss, fish and chips and ice cream might not be on the menu until AFTER the event, but it might be hard to resist! Otherwise, check out the funky bistros and cafes all the way down the Seafront on the Beach or up on Madeira Drive.

For last minute gear purchases or maybe just to treat yourself, Ellis Brigham will be with us with deals galore as usual. We will also have our Rat Race merchandise shop and other sponsor concessions in the village.

Rat Madness

Alongside the racing, the Brighton Rat Race will be exclusively hosting a national level bike Trials competition, run by those stunt daredevils of the M.A.D Team.The M.A.D crew are a big draw at many of our Rat Race events, showing off their awesome riding skills to the crowds. In Brighton, they will be cranking it up one big notch and assembling the some of the best riders from the UK and Europe to compete for the M.A.D R.A.T Trials competition. This will run all day and culminate in a Finale towards the end of the day. If you are racing, we will have ensured you stand a good chance of watching the action at the end of the day. So while you are recovering with a drink and an ice cream, check out these guys doing their thang!
