BACKGROUND
Imagine biking, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, running and navigating your way all over London in an adventure with hundreds of others; see the sights totally differently, as well as visit some true gems of the city off the beaten track. The Rat Race is a truly unique event concept that totally liberates the very best of a city as an adventure playground.
For 2008, the Rat Race have partnered with legendary adventurers The Outward Bound Trust, the UK’s leading provider of experiential learning in the outdoors, to bring you the first ever Rat Race youth event. From our event base next to the mighty Tower Bridge, you will strike out across the metropolis to uncover checkpoints hidden all over town and attempt many different pursuits in your quest to find your way around the famous Rat Race course. You won’t know where you are going until the eve of the event and even when you do know the route, it’s up to you to navigate your way around it as a team.
EVENT FORMAT
The youth event is designed for teams of 3, mixed or single sex. You must take part as two youth members (ages 14 – 18 on the date of the event) and an adult (19 years upwards) on the date of the event. The course will mirror the existing Rat Race London Adventure and as such, you will rub shoulders with hundreds of others on the starting line of the event. You will complete a course that runs alongside the Rat Race and that features many of its challenges.
