The setting for the first ever Rat Race, Edinburgh will always be one of the World’s most exciting cities for exploring, climbing, kayaking, mountain-biking and generally running amok. It’s got sand, sea, cliffs and hills, alongside a spectacular built architecture all of its own. 1000 years of human history dangle tantalising close to millennia of natural wonders as the rugged aspect that greets the visitor from every which way makes the spine tingle in even the most seasoned of adventurers.

This is the original Rat Race for all of those reasons. Edinburgh’s dramatic city-scape is truly breathtaking; from the Volcanic plug sitting within the centre of the city to the imposing fortress of Edinburgh Castle dominating the skyline of the medieval Royal Mile, this is the home of the Rat Race and you will find out why!

Now entering its 5th year the Edinburgh Rat Race prepares for another year of spectacular Urban Adventure, inviting you to take part alongside hundreds of others. Many return for a second or third helping as the action is so good; enjoy the bands, the big screen, the party tents and the atmosphere of the uber-aesthetic Princes Street Gardens adventure village; wonder in awe at Edinburgh Castle from the Start line and then burst onto the streets in anticipation of the finest adventure the Scottish Capital can offer.
