Event Village

Location

The spectacular setting of Potters Fields Park provides us with our event village for the Rat Race Urban Adventure with postcard pictures everywhere you turn. Nestled between The Mayor's office and the magnificent Tower Bridge on the south bank this is the perfect spot to catapult you in to London's fair city. Potters Fields Park is just off Tooley Street and within easy walking distance

from London Bridge Station making it easy to get there. Check out www.tfl.gov.uk for more info.

Facilities

The event village is the epicentre of The Rat Race Urban Adventure and where you come to register, get your course info and attend briefings all before you are let lose in to the city. The event village comes alive with music and commentary at around midday on both days, allowing you and your supporters to get into the spirit of things and maybe tame some of those pre-event nerves. You can browse the adventure concessions, including purchasing any last-minute adventure race gear from Rat Race Store, or maybe see some cool stunt-riding from our mountain bike trials team. There will be a beer tent for your supporters but for you, it might be more prudent to stock up with energy boosting smoothies or some carbs from the onsite caterers! There is a great atmosphere pre-event and this is another great facet of what makes the Rat Race so unique – racers mingling with the public in a city centre on a sunny weekend getting ready for their urban adventure! We will also set up a bike compound and toilets exclusively for your use.

Parking

Cars: For the few for which public transport is not an option, There is on-street and underground parking close by and we would recommend the Butler’s Wharf car park at the corner of Curlew Street and Gainsford Street, SE1 2NY. It’s outside the congestion charging zone (just) and is 24 hour, underground and secure. There is NO parking at the event village.

Bikes: There are several public bike racks in and around Potters Fields Park. We will also have our purpose built bike compound ready & waiting to receive your bikes. Make sure you lock them up when inside though! Please note that unfortunately we do not take any responsibility for participant’s belongings.
