Event Formats Explained

There are two different formats for Rat Racing in 2008. 3 of our events are based on the “Weekender” format, which sees action over a 2-day period on weekends during the summer. In the Weekender events, you can choose to do the Saturday evening section only – called the Mean Streets; or you can do the whole thing. This is called the Adventure class and includes the Mean Streets in the Saturday evening and the Adventure course on the Sunday too.

The other events are based on the Nine 2 Five format; this is a 1 day event with a set-up that sees the “Mean Streets” activity and the Adventure courses of the Weekender condensed into an 8 hour adventure format. You lose none of the adventure and the trade mark Rat Race disciplines are all still there; it’s just over quicker! This format is used in smaller cities and cities where we feel the course would be better run over 1-day only.
