Birmingham Rat Race - 28th June 2008

The Outdoors Show

Welcome to the Rat Race at the OUTDOORS SHOW in Birmingham!

For 2008, the Rat Race has partnered with the Outdoors Show to bring our awesome brand of urban adventure to the city of Birmingham. On the 15th March, from an event base right in the heart of the Show at the NEC, the Rat Race will strike out into the centre of Birmingham, offering teams of 2 and 3 the opportunity to bike, hike, kayak, climb, abseil and navigate their way all over town on our new and exciting One Day Rat Race "Nine 2 Five" format.

Based at the NEC as star of the 2008 Show, the Rats will be released from the Mighty Halls into the City at Large and headed via a few unusual adventures to Brindleyplace and Rat Base 2 - the cultural heart of the new and revitalised Birmingham. You'll be amazed at the complexity of the city centre, not least the chic and boutique shops above ground and in the malls, the award winning sports and leisure facilities and the massive city canal network (often underground). Birmingham has more miles of canals than Venice, and our planning team have found them all already! Be prepared to be totally immersed in this industrial heartland, before re-tracing your steps back from the City Centre via more adventure destinations until you finally return to the NEC for the closing stages and surprise activities within the Outdoors Show itself.

The first 10 teams singed up receive 10 free Sunday tickets to the show. Don’t miss the action:

- Sky Masters Challenge (open to public as well/ compete with Britain’s best Climbers
